Fall's Here (and So Are We, Officially)

Well. Here we are. Fall is creeping in (even if Orange County refuses to admit it), and I keep catching myself standing in the middle of the shop just... looking around. Because a little over a year ago this was just scribbles of numbers in my planner (yes, I think in numbers and dates) and a lot of "what if I do this or that." Now it's real with boots on shelves, racks people actually touch and a fitting room that actually gets used. I still haven't gotten over that part.

And here's a little bit of the story behind this spot, since I know a lot of you have asked. We were actually just across from where we are now, in a different space in this same mall, last year. Then we closed that space for about six months, housed our products inside Clementine while we waited for the right space to open up. Six months of "hang in there," a lot of patience, and to be honest, there were more than a few nights of real conversation with my husband about whether we could still make it work. And then this location became available, right between Free People Movement and Lululemon, and it felt like exactly where we were supposed to land.

And can we talk about boots for a second? People assume those are a fall thing around here, but no ma'am, we carry them all year long. Boots with shorts in July, boots with a good jacket in December, it doesn't matter to me. That's just Stella West being Stella West in any season.

If you haven't stopped by yet, I'd love for you to. There's something about seeing it in person that a photo just doesn't do justice to. Bring a friend. Try something you wouldn't normally grab off the rack. That's kind of the whole point of this place.

Speaking of fall though, I am excited for it. There's something about the shift, the layering, the excuse to wear a good jacket again, that feels like Stella West's whole personality in a temperature change. Western inspired doesn't mean costume-y. It means an edge, a little polish, something that says you know exactly who you are walking in the door.

I am so thankful, truly, for every one of you. The loyal ones who have been with us since before we even had a storefront, and the new faces who just found us this year. Every single one of you is part of why this place exists at all. I don't take that lightly.

If you'd told me, back when we were boxing everything up for Clementine's back room, that we'd be here. I'm not sure I'd have believed you. Thank you for believing it before I fully did.
